Are These Cases Miracles?

Bi-Polar Disorder
One of our favorite practice members is a woman who was on multiple medications for 10 years for bi-polar disorder. When she presented with neck pain, we explained that sometimes chiropractic can help other problems too. Her response was basically, “Yeh, right doc, just fix the neck.”
Well, over the next several months, her moods improved and stabilized and her psychiatrist slowly started decreasing her meds. Over the next few months she had several challenges; a foot surgery that didn’t work right, got infected and had to be redone twice, changes with sick & elderly parents and other life problems that typically would have put her back to “square 1” in the past. Yet she stayed up-tone, continuing her, now occasional adjustments and taking care of herself. She has now been down to just one drug for well over a year.
Her therapist recently commented that she’s been doing great for an extended period & said to her, “. . . and you know I have to admit, the chiropractic care is the only thing that you’ve been doing that’s different.”
Childhood Ear Infections
A woman brought her 10 month old child in to see Dr. Kasanoff. He had had chronic ear infections since the age of 5 months.
He had been on 3 different antibiotics and had just been back to his pediatrician where he had gotten a 4th one along with a referral to and ENT (Ears nose & throat specialist). She knew that referral was likely to result in the recommendation to do surgery to put tubes in her son’s ears.
She had been referred to our office because she knew a colleague of the doctor who lived in a different city & he told her we might be able to help. The child’s examination did NOT include looking in his ears. We weren’t looking for ear infection. Dr. Kasanoff was looking for abnormalities in his nervous system caused by spinal subluxations that may be contributing to his health problems.
Finding such problems, she performed a gentle adjustment and set him up for 2 more times the following week. She saw him those 2 more times, during the following week. We never saw him again and never knew what happened until Dr. Kasanoff ran into his mom at the gym almost a year later. She was ecstatic to see the doctor, apologizing for not having called. It turns out that when she brought her son to the ENT a week after his appointment his ears were clear and he had not had a problem since.
Childhood Asthma
John was a six year old boy who presented with asthma.
He had been on various medications since age 3 when his asthma first developed.
His history included several hospital admissions. His acute asthma attacks were usually triggered by rain.
Dr. Kasanoff did an examination, including a computerized health scan which showed that there was Nervous System Interference as a result of Spinal Subluxation that was affecting his lungs, sinuses and throat.
The patient was begun on a course of chiropractic care.
After about 3 weeks of care, his mother began seeing positive changes and slowly started weaning him off medication. Several weeks later, he was completely off of all medication. About two months after his first adjustment, we had a rain storm. That afternoon, when they came for his adjustment, John’s mother had tears of joy in her eyes. “Today was the first time since John’s asthma developed that we didn’t know it was going to rain!” (because he didn’t have an asthma attack.)
John and his family now live in Long Beach. His asthma has not been a problem for several years now. (We know this from a family friend.) This is presented as a case study where the names have been changed because we could not get in contact with them to get permission to put his story on this site.
ADHD
Allen is an 11 year old boy who had been previously diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. He was tried on at least 2 different medication and they seemed to help some but not a great deal. His parents also had concerns about having him on a Class 11 drug because of the addictive tendencies of such drugs. They had stopped the drugs shortly before he began care.
Allen had severe behavioral problems in school. He had gotten into several fights and been suspended from school 3 times in the two months before he started Chiropractic care. He was in serious danger of getting expelled from school and/or having to repeat fourth grade.
Allen’s initial examination showed severe Nervous System stress due to Spinal Subluxations. He began a course of care which included chiropractic care, supplements, elimination of food additives (color dyes and preservatives) and exercise.
Allen has shown great progress. He has not been suspended from school in over a year. He completed fourth grade with improved grades and has done well in fifth grade. His parents report that he is cooperating more at home with chores and siblings. They also report that he feels better about himself.
His parents expressed sensitivity to the community knowing about him being suspended. Thus his name has been changed.
Migraines
Karen was a typical highly stressed, highly productive sales rep who also is a wife & mother of 3, highly involved in her kids’ lives and suffered from stress headaches and migraines. When she started care, she estimated that she had a headache at least 80% of the time and a migraine that ‘took her down completely’ 1-2 days a week. This had been her life for the past 5-8 years. Within 6 weeks, the migraines were gone and the other headaches greatly diminished in both frequency and intensity. Now under wellness care, Karen may have an occasional headache once every several weeks but hasn’t a full-blown migraine in many months.
