What to Expect

You'll receive a warm welcome. We genuinely appreciate the opportunity to help you attain your health goals!

Our practice members appreciate our casual family atmosphere. And while we maintain an air of casualness, we take your health very seriously.

Your First Visit

Your 1st visit:(Estimated time 45 minutes)

Goal: Find out your goals & see if we can help

We Explain Everything First

After guiding you through the necessary confidential paperwork and viewing a short video, you’ll be ready for your consultation with the doctor.

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

We have provided our paperwork online to make it convenient for you to download and complete prior to your visit and if you have a few moments go ahead and watch the "getting started" video, as well.

The purpose of your consultation is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, we will follow your consultation with a complete chiropractic and neurological examination including a computerized scan with the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station.

The doctor will study your findings and will put together a set of recommendations consistent with YOUR health goals.

Your Second Visit

Your 2nd Visit:(Estimated time 45 minutes)

Goals: To answer these questions:

  1. What's wrong?
  2. Can we help you?
  3. How long will it take?
  4. What will it cost?

Plan to bring your spouse, significant other or parent to this all-important visit. Enlisting their support will make follow-through much easier for you.

You will be explained everything first.

After your report, presuming we can help and you’ve elected to receive care, the doctor will do your first adjustment. You may have other procedures as well if needed.

We go over a lot of information at this visit so we’ll keep further instruction to the minimum necessary until your next visit.

It’s helpful to bring your calendar or day planner to this appointment so we can set up future appointments

Routine Visits

The goal of your third visit and subsequent visits is to monitor your progress, remove nerve interferences in order to facilitate healing and educate you about wellness.

Each time you come in, you’ll sign in and read the news of the day.

You will be explained everything first.

Then you’ll go into our “Adjusting Suite” for you adjustment. Lie down, face up and relax. The doctor will be with you after you’ve had a couple minutes to settle.

Following your adjustment, you may need ancillary care such as muscle work, exercise instruction or a session of rehab.

Each of these is a separate procedure and will take about 10-12 minutes each. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.

Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.

Avoid relapse with regular visits.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

Special Appointments and Re-examinations may take a little longer

Re-examinations including re-scans will take place every 6-12 visits depending on your case. You will need to allow 20 minutes extra for a re-exam.

Sometimes. Today's hectic lifestyles can be a constant source of vertebral subluxations. When vertebral subluxations don't resolve, you need to see our San Luis Obispo office for chiropractic care!
