OUR Philosophy

It’s all about the healing power of the body. Chiropractic is about waking you up and reconnecting you; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. On a physical level, the Nervous System IS the connection between body, mind & spirit. Our care accesses the Nervous System and ‘reads’ it to learn which areas of the body are most willing to accept change. We start there. This allows a gentler approach.

Almost all chiropractors accept the notion that there are major Subluxations (areas of spinal and nerve dysfunction) and compensatory ones. Our philosophy says we only adjust “majors”; the body put the compensation there, so once the reason for it is corrected, the body should work to correct the compensation on its own. In this way, we don’t risk possibly teaching the body that it needs an outside force (the chiropractor) to correct the compensation. This makes you less dependant on us to ‘fix’ you.

Sometimes after an adjustment, you’ll notice changes immediately; but often the changes are more subtle and happen over the next 4-24 hours. Frequently people come in for one problem but find relief in other areas as well.

Can vertebral subluxations clear up on their own?
Sometimes. Today's hectic lifestyles can be a constant source of vertebral subluxations. Fortunately, our bodies have the ability to self-correct many of these minor problems as we bend and stretch, or when we sleep at night. When vertebral subluxations don't resolve, you need to see our San Luis Obispo office for chiropractic care!
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
