What is a Practice Member?

When you decide to come see us, you become a "Practice Member", not a patient.

In our office, you are not a "patient".

The term "patient" has its origin in "pathos" which means suffering! We don't think of you in those terms, no matter how bad the condition and we don't want YOU to think of yourself in those terms.

In addition, in our society someone who is a "patient" has often turned over control of their health choices to someone else to fix them. We want to empower you to make positive changes; to partner with us and take responsibility for your well-being. So we use the term “Practice Member”.

In being a member, much like the member of a gym or an organization; you get back what you put in. We hope the use of this term will empower you to make better health choices and take an active role.

Can vertebral subluxations clear up on their own?
Sometimes. Today's hectic lifestyles can be a constant source of vertebral subluxations. Fortunately, our bodies have the ability to self-correct many of these minor problems as we bend and stretch, or when we sleep at night. When vertebral subluxations don't resolve, you need to see our San Luis Obispo office for chiropractic care!
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
